Rook, my bird, is dead.

We are keeping a dog at our house for my mom's friend who had to go out of town.. and he killed my bird. My parents woke me up this morning and told me that Rook got out of a little latch on the side of her cage and was walking around on the ground. This happens sometimes, and it's not really that bad because I keep my door shut, and for the most part the animals keep out of my side of the house.. But today I got up half asleep to go do something, took the blanket off her cage and decided I was still tired and went back to bed without closing the door.. And next thing I know my parents wake me up and tell me my bird is dead..

I feel really really sad.. I had to clean her cage out of everything today.. and wash up some blood from the rug in my room. And I know a certain somebody is gonna come back and tell me "I told you so" which won't help.. and overall I'm just miserable. Really really sad. My parents said we can go bird shopping after Labor Day, but I feel so sad about this particular one. The dog didn't even eat her, he just killed her for no reason.. just because that's what dogs do and that's what he can do and for that I am very very sad.
